What details help when connecting to an existing line?
Add the pipe manufacturer and pipe name as well as the press tool and existing press profile to your press fitting enquiry. A photo of the pipe marking helps with identification. Dimensions and profile alone do not replace an approval of the specific pipe and fitting combination.

For branches there is the press tee and the press tee with reduced branch, where the branch is smaller than the line. Changes of direction are handled by the press elbow 45°, the press elbow 90° male thread and the press elbow 90° female thread flat-sealing. The press adapter female thread and the press adapter female thread flat-sealing lead to a thread; the press adapter to copper with insert and the press adapter to copper with compression fitting lead to a copper line. The reducing press coupling connects two different pipe sizes, and the press plug closes a line end. The headpart for concealed valve and the extension for concealed valve belong to the concealed valve. Pressing is done with the press jaw TH profile, and the calibrator for aluminium composite pipe prepares the multilayer pipe.

Press fittings for composite pipe: How are they constructed?
Our press fittings are designed for aluminium multilayer composite pipe from 16 × 2 to 40 × 3.5. The body is brass and the press sleeve is AISI 304 stainless steel. A plastic guide ring with a window shows whether the pipe is inserted far enough and prevents an electrogalvanic reaction. A double O-ring provides the seal. According to the manufacturer, the fittings are DVGW-approved and their screw-in threads are tapered to ISO 7-1 (flat-sealing connections seal on a flat face rather than in the thread). A date on the body makes each part traceable.
Which component goes where?
The range covers straight runs, changes of direction, branches, adapters and wall connections. The table lists the sizes we offer for each component.

Copper press connections: How do you connect composite pipe to copper?
A press fitting for composite pipe is only for composite pipe. Connect to an existing copper pipe using an adapter: the composite pipe is pressed on one side, with a connection for 15, 22 or 28 mm copper pipe on the other. Versions include a press adapter with insert, a press adapter with compression fitting and a copper adapter; 28 mm, matching 32 × 3, is available only with an insert. Pressing copper to copper requires copper press fittings, a separate system with its own profile.
Pressing with a manual tool or machine: What must match?
The approved press profile depends on the fitting series and pipe size. State your required version and press profile in the enquiry; check the specific system approval before installation. For the fitting, the jaw matters: correct profile and correct size. Whether it fits a manual pressing tool or cordless press machine depends on the tool's mounting; its manual specifies the maximum size it can press. A manual tool often suffices for a few small joints, while a machine is faster for many joints or large sizes. TH-profile press jaws from 16 × 2 to 40 × 3.5 are listed under Tools.
Installation: Calibrate, deburr, press, test
- Cut the pipe square, calibrate it, deburr the inside and remove swarf.
- Push the fitting on straight until the pipe is visible in the guide ring window. Angled insertion can easily damage the O-rings.
- Place the jaw squarely on the press sleeve and complete the full pressing cycle; never stop halfway.
- Seal the threaded side of adapters with hemp and compound or sealing cord. Flat-sealing connections receive only their gasket.
- Pressure-test before covering. The LBP (Leak Before Press) function makes an incorrectly pressed joint leak during the test so it can be noticed.
Pipe is listed under Aluminium multilayer composite pipes, sealants under Consumables and threaded adapter components under Brass threaded fittings.

Frequently asked questions about press fittings
Common questions about removal, operating limits, tee sizes and concealed installation.
Where can I buy press fittings near Hagen?
From AKKAYA Bauelemente GmbH, at our warehouse at Im Mühlenwert 22, 58135 Hagen. Add fittings and pipe to your enquiry list and we reply with prices, availability and a collection date. Collection is by appointment Monday–Friday 8:30–17:30 and Saturday 10–14. Driving takes around 15 minutes from Ennepetal, 21 from Wuppertal and 29 from Dortmund.
Can a pressed connection be disconnected later?
No, the pressed joint is permanent. If a connection needs changing, cut out the fitting and reconnect the pipe with a press coupling. Where you will need to disconnect later, plan for a union or push-fit fitting.
What temperatures and pressures are press fittings rated for?
Operating temperature –20 °C to +95 °C, maximum temperature +120 °C, operating pressure up to 10 bar. The –20 °C limit applies only with antifreeze, with no more than 30 % glycol.
Which systems can the fittings be used in?
According to the manufacturer, they suit drinking water, hot water, heating, underfloor heating, air conditioning and cooling systems, as well as irrigation, compressed air and non-aggressive liquids, in residential buildings, commercial premises, industry and agriculture.
What do the three numbers on a tee mean?
The middle number is the branch. A 20 × 16 × 20 tee branches a 16 × 2 pipe off a 20 × 2 line; a 16 × 20 × 16 tee has an enlarged branch. On a female-threaded press tee, the middle value is the thread size, for example 20 × 3/4″ × 20.
Can press fittings be installed under plaster?
Yes, because the connection is permanent. However, the manufacturer requires that metal parts do not come into contact with cement compounds there; protect them with a suitable material.
How do I connect a tap or mixer at the wall?
Use a short wall plate elbow, for example 16 × 2 to 1/2″. If the pipe needs to continue to the next outlet, use the 180° U-shaped double wall plate elbow. For two tap connections, there is a mounting unit with two 16 × 2 wall plate elbows.
How should I specify press fittings in my enquiry?
Give the dimensions and quantity for each fitting, plus the thread size for adaptors. The fittings are order items for collection from our Hagen warehouse after they arrive. We give you the date in our reply; shipping is available on request.
