Before buying underfloor heating, start by drawing up a component list. A low unit price for heating pipe tells you little about the complete materials package. Insulation, fixings, perimeter connections, manifolds and controls must suit the floor build-up. AKKAYA offers components for water-based systems on enquiry. Your installer's technical design provides the basis for selecting products and quantities.
A materials list per square metre to help with calculations
The following guidance is a geometric quantity calculation, not a heat-loss calculation. As a basic rule, one square metre of covered floor area requires one square metre of system underlay, plus an allowance for cutting and waste. Calculate the approximate pipe requirement by dividing the area by the pipe spacing in metres. Spacing of 15 cm gives around 6.7 m of pipe per m²; at 10 cm, around 10 m. Add the flow and return runs to the manifold. Perimeter insulation strips are measured by room perimeter rather than floor area.
- System underlay: covered area plus a project-specific allowance for waste.
- Heating pipe: area divided by pipe spacing, plus connection runs.
- Perimeter insulation strips: the length of all relevant edges along walls and built-in elements.
- Fixings and adhesive tape: according to the system and actual laying plan.
- Manifold connections, cabinet and controls: according to circuit count and room controls.
Staple, stud or dry floor system?
The underfloor heating components include staple insulation rolls with reinforced film in 20 and 30 mm thickness, as well as a studded system panel with a total height of 29 mm, including the studs. In a staple system, staples hold the pipe in place; in a stud system, the pipe runs between the studs. Dry systems are a separate type of floor build-up for projects designed accordingly. The documented range does not include a complete dry system; do not plan one using an arbitrary combination of wet-system components.
Work out heating circuits from pipe lengths
A calculation example: 20 m² with 15 cm spacing requires approximately 133 m of pipe within the floor area. Divided into two equal circuits, this is around 67 m per circuit, excluding connection runs in both cases. Whether this division is hydraulically suitable depends on the pipe, pressure loss and heat demand. We therefore do not give a universal maximum circuit length. The available manifold offers 3 to 13 circuits; a room may need more than one. Suitable supply pipes can be found under multilayer composite pipes.
Special-order items with delivery by arrangement
Attach your quantity list and any existing design documents to your enquiry. We confirm prices, availability and the delivery method. The components are special-order items; collection in Hagen takes place after the goods have arrived and an appointment has been agreed, with shipping by arrangement. The Hagen locations page explains how to get there. Read more about comparing floor systems and choosing components. For local collection, see underfloor heating in Hagen.
Häufige Fragen
Is 6.7 m of heating pipe per m² a fixed ordering quantity?
No. It is a rounded geometric guide for 15 cm pipe spacing. Connection runs, perimeter zones and the actual laying plan change the quantity to order.
How do I calculate the number of heating circuits?
Divide the planned pipe length according to the permitted circuit lengths and hydraulic design. The professional design is decisive; the number of rooms and circuits need not be the same.
Can I order a complete dry floor system?
A complete dry system is not confirmed in the documented range. Enquire specifically about the version you need before designing a floor build-up around it.
What heating pipe coils are offered?
The five-layer PE-RT heating pipe in 16 × 2 mm is available in 200 or 600 m coils. Check how the length will be divided before cutting.
Is shipping outside Hagen possible?
Shipping is offered by arrangement. Provide the postcode, quantities and access conditions; costs and delivery timing are agreed before you make a binding decision.
