Electric underfloor heating, an electric radiator or a wet system connected to the heating? The question arises with every renovation. First, so you do not have to search: We do not currently supply electric heating mats, electric radiators or electric towel warmers. We supply radiators and underfloor heating accessories for systems connected to central heating. This page explains the difference and helps you choose the right direction.
1. Two systems in a sentence each
- Electric: Electricity is converted into heat directly in the heating element, for example in a heating mat beneath the tiles or a radiator with a built-in electric element. Only an electrical connection is needed, with no heating pipes.
- Wet: A heat source, such as a gas boiler or heat pump, heats the heating water. The water flows through pipes into the radiator or the heating loops in the screed and releases its heat there.
2. When electric heating is typically chosen
Electric heating is often planned where there is no heating pipe nearby: a single bathroom, a converted loft or a small area that only needs occasional warmth. Installation is usually simpler because no pipes are laid. How running costs compare depends on electricity prices, the heating system and use. We cannot provide a reliable calculation here. Have an energy adviser or installer prepare one for your home. An electrical contractor is responsible for the electrical connection.
If you choose electric heating, we are not the right retailer for this project. We would rather say so immediately than send you to a page without a suitable product.
3. Wet heating: radiators connected to central heating
For living spaces, we supply valve-integrated panel radiators in two designs:
- Type 22 with two heating panels and two convector fins, the common design for living rooms and other rooms.
- Type 33 with three heating panels and three convector fins, deeper and intended for higher heat demand.
Both come in heights of 40, 50, 60 and 90 cm and many lengths. Connections are at the bottom left or right, or at the side. The supply includes wall brackets with plugs and screws, a valve insert, plus blanking and air vent plugs. Which type suits your room is explained in the guide Type 22 or Type 33 radiator. If you are planning a heat pump, read Radiators for a heat pump.
The radiators are held in stock at our warehouse in Hagen; availability is confirmed in our reply. Installation and connection to the heating system should be carried out by an installer.
4. Wet heating: underfloor heating from manifold to pipe
Wet underfloor heating consists of several components that must match. We supply accessories for these systems in the collection Underfloor heating:
- Underfloor heating manifold, which distributes the heating water to the individual circuits
- Control station as a pre-assembled pump group
- PE-RT heating pipe, with five layers and an oxygen barrier
- Manifold cabinet, compression fittings, tacker system and edge insulation strips
The parts you need for your build-up are shown in the guide Underfloor heating: choosing components. For older buildings with limited floor build-up height, take a look at Retrofitting underfloor heating: wet or dry system.
5. What about the bathroom?
In the bathroom, the same question arises for towel radiators: all-electric, connected to central heating or dual fuel using both. The terms are explained in the guide Bathroom radiators, towel radiators and towel warmers. We do not currently offer towel radiators in the shop.

Frequently asked questions
Do you sell electric underfloor heating?
No. We do not currently supply heating mats or other electric underfloor heating. We supply accessories for wet underfloor heating connected to central heating.
Do you have electric radiators?
No, we do not currently stock electric radiators or electric towel warmers either. Our Type 22 and Type 33 valve-integrated panel radiators connect to the heating system.
Which parts do I need for wet underfloor heating?
Essentially an underfloor heating manifold, heating pipe, a way to secure the pipe such as the tacker system, edge insulation strips and, depending on the installation, a control station and manifold cabinet. The overview is in the components guide.
Can I retrofit wet underfloor heating?
Yes, with a wet or dry system. What suits your room depends on the floor build-up height and the floor itself. The differences are explained in the retrofitting guide.
