Plumber's hemp flat spool – Plumber's hemp on a flat spool is ready to use. According to the manufacturer, it is intended for thread seals in drinking water and wastewater pipes and withstands up to +140 °C. A thread sealing paste for hemp seals can be found under Consumables.

Do not use hemp on plastic threads, as it swells and can split the thread; a thread sealing cord approved for that application is intended instead. PTFE tape is intended for fine threads.
