A water meter is installed either visibly on the surface or concealed in the wall. On the surface it is held by a connection set with a bracket, often called a wall bracket, or it is screwed directly into the pipe as a floor meter. For concealed installation, a mounting block sits in the wall and a measuring capsule is inserted into it. Which solution fits depends on whether the pipe is exposed and which meter the water utility, landlord or metering service specifies. On the surface: connection set with stainless steel bracket
The water meter connection set holds a household water meter (multi-jet meter) in horizontal installation. The stainless steel bracket is adjustable in length and has an earthing screw. It comes with two angle-seat full-flow valves, DVGW-approved according to the manufacturer: the valve at the inlet has a non-rising spindle, the one at the outlet additionally has a backflow preventer, drain and dead-space-free upper parts. Connection is by female thread in 3/4″, 1″ or 1 1/4″. We confirm which meter length fits with the quotation.
On the surface: floor meter directly in the pipe
For an apartment or floor there is the single-jet floor meter in DN 15. It is installed horizontally or vertically, for cold water up to 30 °C or for hot water up to 90 °C, at a maximum of 16 bar. The manufacturer's drawing gives the connections d = G 3/4 and d1 = G 1/2 as well as the dimensions L = 80 mm, L1 = 160 mm and 58 mm height. The register has eight rollers: five for cubic metres, three for litres.
Concealed: mounting block and measuring capsule
For the concealed solution, the mounting block is set into the wall first. The measuring capsule, which is the actual meter, is inserted later, and finally the visible part as a cover.
- Mounting block MONO: connection M77 × 1.5, according to the manufacturer for measuring capsules EAS Modul Type A 34 in cold and hot water. A concealed shut-off valve 3/4″ is built in. The block is pre-assembled, factory leak-tested and sound- and heat-insulated.
- Mounting block DUO: holds two water meters in parallel. Housing, valves and piping are made of brass, PN 10, up to 90 °C.
- Measuring capsule EAS-Modular Type A34: DN 15, connection thread G 2, for cold water up to 30 °C or hot water up to 90 °C, maximum 16 bar. According to the manufacturer it is prepared for remote reading.
- Concealed-installation visible part: chrome-plated cover with handle, thread M78 × 1.5, 40 mm sleeve, red and blue colour dot.

What to clarify before the enquiry
- On the surface or concealed: Is the pipe exposed, or does it disappear into the wall?
- Cold or hot water: Meters and capsules are available separately for both.

What is a water meter wall bracket?

Does every measuring capsule fit every mounting block?
Not automatically. According to the meter description, our measuring capsule is intended for EAS-Modular mounting systems, and our mounting block MONO is intended, according to the manufacturer, for measuring capsules EAS Modul Type A 34. Are the water meters calibrated?
Whether and until when a meter or measuring capsule is calibrated, we confirm with the quotation.
Can I install the water meter myself?
Installation follows the manufacturer's instructions. Work on the drinking water installation is carried out by a specialist contractor.
Which valve belongs behind the water meter?
